Fostering Inner Peace and Well-Being: World Meditation Day Observed at Amrita Hospital, Faridabad

Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, celebrated World Meditation Day with a Meditation Session for students from various streams at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, which was conducted on December 20, 2025. Students from the Schools of Medicine, Allied Health Sciences, Nursing, Artificial Intelligence, and other institutions gathered together with the sole aim of celebrating the significance of Meditation.
The session was led by Swami Nijamritananda Puri Ji, who engaged and directed the students by providing them with profound knowledge and insights on how to meditate and its philosophy.
During the session, Swami Ji shared that meditation is an important tool to develop a clear-cut mindset, controllable emotions, and a focused and strengthened mindset. These are the most essential skills required by students to develop disciplines in their day-to-day lives.
He also reflected that Meditation can serve as an effective stress management tool and an excellent tool of overall development that can boost students’ performances in personal and professional fields.
A guided Ma-Om Meditation and a White Flower Meditation for world peace were also a part of the programme, which brought in a calm and contemplative environment for participants to experience inner stillness and collective harmony.
Then followed the interactive Q&A session that addressed the concerns of students in managing their lifestyle with their schedules. Students raised questions like managing academic pressure, maintaining mental calm during examinations, integrating meditation into daily routines, and balancing professional aspirations with inner well-being.
Wellness ambassadors from all schools were felicitated for their contributions during the programme. Their contributions have played a huge role in promoting mental well-being. A pledge was taken by the gathering to practice meditation regularly, which was led by the Ambassadors, reinforcing a shared commitment to mindfulness and holistic health.
The event concluded in a peaceful manner, with all attendees receiving certification and refreshments. It was clear to all that the celebration of World Meditation Day was very successful and served as a timely reminder that peace begins with a pause; thus, re-establishing Amrita’s commitment to the development of both academic excellence and mental and emotional well-being.
