Dr. Rajesh Kannan Megalingam and Team Win IEEE EPICS Grant for Assistive Technology

We are delighted to share an important achievement by Dr. Rajesh Kannan Megalingam and his interdisciplinary research team, who have been awarded a prestigious IEEE EPICS (Engineering Projects in Community Service) Grant amounting to USD 9,950 (approximately INR 9 Lakhs).

This project is supported by the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, AIMS, Kochi, and Adarsh Charitable Trust, Kochi, Kerala. The funding has been awarded for the project titled:
“Personalized Communication Assistive Technologies for Children with Autism and Cerebral Palsy – India.”

This socially impactful initiative aims to develop innovative, user-centric assistive communication technologies designed to meet the unique needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Cerebral Palsy, particularly within the Indian context.

The IEEE EPICS program is a globally recognized initiative that supports engineering-driven projects addressing real-world community challenges. The selection of this project reflects its strong technical merit, societal relevance, and potential for meaningful impact.
