30th Convocation Ceremony held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus; 3006 students receive degrees, including 54 doctoral degrees
Amritapuri (Kollam): Having a sense of responsibility towards society, just as one has towards various aspects of life, is the most important thing, said NITI Aayog Member Prof. Gobardhan Das. He was addressing the students as the Chief Guest at the 30th Convocation Ceremony held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus.
He added that the students were beginning a new chapter in their lives and that, as they move forward in their journey, they should put into practice the lessons of compassion, empathy and coexistence that they have learned in life.
Balagopal Chandrasekhar, Chairman of Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation, was the Guest of Honour at the ceremony. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Trustee Swami Purnamritananda Puri delivered the benedictory address. The Chancellor of the University, Sadguru Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, conveyed her best wishes to the students through a video message.
A total of 3006 students from various academic departments received their degrees, while 54 students received doctoral degrees.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Venkat Rangan, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Manisha V Ramesh, Registrar Dr. Bipin G Nair, Dean of Engineering Dr. Balakrishnan Shankar, and Dean of PG Programmes Dr. Krishnasree Achuthan attended the ceremony. The distribution of medals and certificates to students who achieved outstanding academic excellence was also held as part of the ceremony.
