IEEE Undergraduate Teaching Award 2020 for Amrita Faculty

Dr. Rajesh Kannan Megalingam (Director, Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs and Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus)  received the prestigious IEEE Undergraduate Teaching Award 2020 on October 23, 2020, from the IEEE President 2020, Dr. Toshio Fukuda in a grand event at the flagship conference of IEEE Education Society, Frontiers in Education (FIE 2020), in Sweden, held online from October 21-24, 2020. He also delivered a keynote address on "Undergraduate Mentoring and Research at HuT Labs, A Case Study" on the occasion. 

Amrita Team 'Na-Sarathy' 12th in World Ranking of Indy Autonomous Challenge Hackathon 2

Team Na-Sarathy of Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus, placed 12th in the world ranking in the Hackathon 2 of Indy Autonomous Challenge (IAC), organized by Energy Systems Network (ESN) and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). The hackathon was held for a week from September 12 – 19, 2020. 

Amrita Paper on "Amaran the Tree-Climbing Robot" Published in 'IEEE Spectrum' Magazine

An article on Amaran, the unmanned robotic coconut tree climber and harvester, developed at the Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, was published in the world-renowned IEEE Spectrum magazine, a flagship magazine of IEEE.

 

Amrita Students Enter into the Finals of Cisco Global Problem Solver Challenge 2020

Amrita Develops "Prabha"- Ultraviolet Room Disinfection Tele-Operated Robot during COVID Pandemic

Prabha, a robot that cleans room by systematically disinfecting the area with UV light. It can clean a 12’X12’ room, killing any COVID-19 virus that may be lurking, in 30 minutes to one hour depending upon how many lamps are connected to it.

Amrita Develops "Bodhi"- Surveillance & PA System Self-Driving Robot during COVID Lockdown

Bodhi, a robot that can patrol streets during the lockdown and broadcast messages if necessary. Operated remotely via smartphone at up to a distance of 500 meters and fitted with a 360° camera, Bodhi was designed for use by police and security personnel.

Amrita Student Team Qualify for Indy Autonomous Challenge Round Two

Amrita student team "Na-Sarathy" from the Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, qualified for round two of the Indy Autonomous Challenge to compete in the world’s first $1.5 million autonomous racecar competition at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Amrita Students Win Big at Tokyo RoboCon 2018 International Design Contest

The final year students from the Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs, Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering (ECE), School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, won First Prize and Sponsors' Best Prize at RoboCon 2018. RoboCon18 is an international robotic design contest, and was held at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, from August 6-18, 2018.

Amrita Students Selected for the 29th Edition of RoboCon IDC 2018, Japan

A team of four students of the Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs, Department of Electronics and Communication, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, were selected to the elite team from selected countries to participate in the 29th edition of RoboCon International Design Contest (IDC) 2018 to be held at Tokyo Institute of Technology from August 6-18, 2018.

Amrita Students Win Big at OMRG 2016 Robotics Contest, Singapore

Students of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amritapuri Campus, won major prizes in several categories at the OMRG 2016 Robotics Contest held at Singapore on February 21, 2016. Twenty-one teams from different countries contested in the final round.
