Bio

Dr. Sanju Kaladharan is a Faculty in the Marketing area at Amrita School of Business, Kochi. She holds a Ph.D. in Management from Amrita School of Business, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi. Her teaching portfolio includes Environment Management and Sustainable Development, Marketing Practice, Sustainable Marketing, Strategic Brand Management. Prior to this assignment, she held administrative and teaching roles in various reputed institutions in the UAE and India. Dr. Sanju’s teaching and research are shaped by a commitment to continuous learning and grounded in the principles of responsible management education. She envisions higher education as a process of collaborative learning, where students and educators engage as equals in knowledge creation.

Dr. Sanju’s research is interdisciplinary, spanning sustainability, healthcare, and marketing, with a strong focus on understanding consumer behavior within complex institutional and policy environments. Her doctoral research, titled “Consumer Responsibility for Sustainable Medicine Consumption in Medical Neoliberalism,” critically examined how individuals navigate responsibility for responsible consumption of medicines shaped by market-oriented reforms. Her research employed a multi-method approach, integrating both qualitative and quantitative techniques, including interviews, surveys, and multi-criteria decision-making methods. The research contributes to global discussions on demand-side interventions for sustainable healthcare, addressing challenges such as antimicrobial resistance, irrational medicine use, and equitable healthcare access.

Dr. Sanju has an established publication record, with over 20 articles in reputed Scopus-indexed and ABDC-listed journals. Her work has appeared in journals such as Cleaner and Responsible Consumption, Global Transitions, Asian Journal of Psychiatry, Global Health Journal, Economic and Political Weekly, Sustainable Futures and International Journal of Health Governance. In addition, she has presented her research at prestigious academic forums, including the American Marketing Association Conference and the AIM-AMA Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium and International Marketing Conference. She has also attended leading academic development programs, including the research workshop at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.

Looking ahead, she aims to contribute meaningfully to sustainable Healthcare by bridging the gap between research and practice. Her vision is to translate sustainability frameworks into tangible solutions, fostering positive changes for a healthier and more sustainable future.
