The Ayurveda team of the STI Hub Mizoram project organized a lifestyle survey and free Ayurvedic medical camp at the VC Hall, New Serchhip, in collaboration with Dr. Lalmuanpuii, Medical Officer of Ayush Health Wellness Centre, Serchhip, Mizoram on June 6, 2024 from 10 am to 3 pm.
This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), by providing accessible healthcare services and promoting preventive health awareness among underserved communities. By integrating traditional Ayurvedic practices with modern healthcare outreach, the program fosters sustainable and inclusive healthcare solutions, ensuring that even remote populations receive the support they need to lead healthier lives.
The event aimed to assess the lifestyle habits of the local population and provide essential medical services to the community. The lifestyle survey was designed to gather information on various aspects of the participants’ daily lives, including diet, physical activity, smoking and alcohol consumption, stress levels, and general health awareness.
66 participants took part in the lifestyle survey, while 84 participants received the team’s free health checkup. A total number of 475 medicines were distributed free for common ailments, which were highly appreciated.
The event was warmly received by the residents of New Serchhip. Participants expressed their gratitude for the free medical services and valued the opportunity to gain insights into their health and lifestyle. The positive feedback underscored the importance and impact of such community-oriented health initiatives.
