Amritavarsham 72, the 72nd birthday celebration of Chancellor Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma), brought together tens of thousands of participants from across India and around the world at Amritapuri on 27 September 2025. The event was open to everyone and free of charge.
This public event provided an opportunity for students and faculty from across Amrita’s campuses to actively contribute to the practical organisation of a large public event. Their voluntary service included food distribution, dishwashing, logistical support and crowd management. Food was provided free of charge to participants.
These contributions helped make it possible to welcome all the participants and reflected the emphasis on service and social responsibility central to Amma’s message on the purpose of education.
