Attractive Placements Draw Students and Parents to Amrita

One of the top reasons for students, as well as parents, in selecting and preferring Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham as the study destination over other top-rung universities and colleges, is the guaranteed peace-of-mind factor that it provides: placements! Similarly, for the MBA placement season that began in October 2014, major corporates like TCS, ING Vysya Bank, Idea Cellular, Beroe, Citibank, Crisil, Deloitte, Wrigley, TCS BPS, Khimji Ramdas, Philips, CMA CGM Shared Services, HDB Financial Services, Madura Fashion & Lifestyle, Zoho Corporation, Shoppers Stop, HCL Infosystems, L & T Financial Services, Coffee Day, Bosch and Copal Amba have already visited Amrita campus. 138 offers have been made so far at an average package of Rs. 5.12 lakhs and a highest package of Rs.13.5 lakhs per annum.

Prof. C. Parameswaran, Director, Corporate and Industry Relations (CIR), says, “Our students are more employable as can be gauged from the National Employability Award based on the AMCAT scores conducted by Aspiring Minds.” He pointed out that the award reflected the industry-readiness of the final year students to take up and succeed in various roles in the corporate world. This is definitely one reason, why satisfied companies who had hired Amrita alumni from previous batches continue to re-visit the institution year after year, to meet their talent requirements. “There is a significant contribution from our side, towards driving this”, says Prof. Parameswaran.  “Beyond the core subjects taught at Amrita as part of the course, we impart Life Skills- a credit-based programme comprising aptitude, verbal, soft skills and core technical skills.  To interested students, we also provide specialised training for appearing in entrance examinations for pursuing higher education, foreign languages courses, and even an eco-system to help start one’s own entrepreneurial ventures.”  No wonder the placed students and parents delightfully vouch for all this.
