A delegation from the University of Milan, Italy, comprising Professor Giovanni Naldi and Professor Giacomo Aletti, visited Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Amrita Hospital to engage in academic discussions, research interactions, and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
The delegation was welcomed by faculty members and representatives from Amrita. The discussions focused on ongoing research initiatives, interdisciplinary projects, and emerging areas of collaboration in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, healthcare technology, data analytics, computational modelling, biomedical research, and digital transformation.
Professor Giovanni Naldi shared insights into ongoing research and academic programmes at the University of Milan, particularly in computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematical modelling, and data-driven research. The interaction also explored opportunities for joint research projects, collaborative publications, academic exchanges, and student and researcher engagement.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured Amrita Hospital, accompanied by Ms. GuruAmrit, Hospitality In-charge, and Mr. Sai Vinod from the AI Dean’s Office. The tour included the Intensive Care Units, Central Critical Care Unit, advanced laboratories, diagnostic facilities, clinical departments, and patient care areas.
The visiting professors appreciated Amrita Hospital’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, advanced medical facilities, technology-enabled healthcare systems, and research-oriented clinical environment.
An interaction with Ph.D. scholars and faculty members was also held, covering emerging research trends, Artificial Intelligence applications, computational methods, data analysis, research methodologies, and scientific publication practices. The scholars actively engaged with the visiting professors, discussing their research projects, methodologies, and future opportunities.
The delegation expressed appreciation for Amrita’s academic and research ecosystem and conveyed interest in strengthening collaboration through joint research, faculty and student exchanges, collaborative publications, workshops, and international academic partnerships.
