HuT Labs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, successfully implemented an impactful project under the IEEE Tech4Good Program aimed at reducing post-harvest losses in rural farming communities through an innovative Solar-Powered Hybrid Drying System.
The initiative was successfully deployed across multiple locations in Idukki district, Kerala — including Nedumkandam, Thodupuzha (Kanjiramattam), Adimali (Erumpupalam), and Kattappana (Kochuthovala) — benefiting farmers and women’s self-help groups by enabling efficient preservation of seasonal fruits and vegetables, improving shelf life, and supporting the development of value-added food products.
The project was implemented in collaboration with Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), Idukki, sponsored by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. JSS played a vital role in community coordination, beneficiary engagement, training activities, and field-level implementation support.
This initiative reflects the commitment of HuT Labs towards humanitarian technology, sustainable agriculture, rural empowerment, and socially impactful innovation.
