Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in Top Ranking in MHRD- Swachhta Campus Ranking

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, emerged on top of the Swachhta Campus Rankings 2018 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, in the category of Technical Institutions/ Universities (Residential). The competition saw participation from more than 6000 institutes across the country. The ranking is based on the appreciable participation of the campuses of the country in taking environmental science lessons beyond the walls of classroom and apply to the day-to-day lives.

AmritaCREATE's Learning App Among Five Finalists of Adult Literacy XPRIZE Competition

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's AmritaCREATE (Amrita Center for Research in Analytics and Technologies for Education) was selected to be one of five finalist teams for the Barbara Bush Foundation Adult Literacy XPRIZE. The competition, presented by Dollar General Literacy Foundation, is a global program that challenges teams to develop mobile applications for existing smart devices that result in the greatest increase in literacy skills among participating adult learners in just 12 months.

Amrita Researcher Receives Stanford University's 2018 FabLearn Global Excellence Award

The Stanford University's 2018 FabLearn Global Excellence Practitioner Award has been awarded to Akshay Nagarajan, Researcher at AMMACHI Labs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, in recognition of his achievements and efforts to advance maker education and for his exemplary commitment to outreach, connecting communities and bringing equity to education in the rural communities in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh.

AmritaCREATE's Learning App Among Five Finalists of Adult Literacy XPRIZE Competition

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham's AmritaCREATE (Amrita Center for Research in Advanced Technologies for Education) was selected to be one of five finalist teams for the $7M Barbara Bush Foundation's Adult Literacy XPRIZE in an awards ceremony on June 25, 2018, in New Orleans. This global competition challenges teams to develop reading apps for android devices. The AmritaCREATE team has been selected from among 109 teams representing 15 countries. Winning teams are judged by an increase in literacy skills among participating adult learners. Each finalist team has been awarded $100K. In early 2019, a $3M grand prize will be awarded to the team whose app demonstrates the best performance across all adult learners over a usage period of 15 months.
