Bio

Dr. Vivek Patel obtained his Ph.D. from the prestigious Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal, in 2025, where he has done specialization on medical imaging for breast cancer detection from histopathology images using deep neural networks. He obtained his M.Tech from the same institute (MANIT), Bhopal, in 2011 with a GATE scholarship. He completed his B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET), Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, in 2009. Prior to joining Amrita University, he served as an assistant professor in the Department of Advanced Computer Science and Engineering at Vignan’s University, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. He received a teaching assistantship during his doctoral work from the Ministry of Higher Education (MHE), India. He had served as an assistant professor in the RGPV, Bhopal affiliated engineering institute from 2011-2019. He has qualified GATE examination 05 times, jointly conducted by the IITs. His current research areas are Computer Vision, Deep Learning & Machine Learning driven medical imaging and disease diagnosis, Graph Neural Networks, Smart and Lightweight edge computing systems.
