The School of Artificial Intelligence at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Delhi-NCR Faridabad campus, hosted the highly anticipated Swagatham 2025 Induction Programme for the incoming B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. students, where the parents and family members were also present. This event marked the beginning of an exciting academic journey for our new students, who are now part of the Amrita family.

The inauguration was held at the Amriteshwari Auditorium and commenced with the Tilak Ceremony, followed by a delightful breakfast. The students were then blessed with the lighting of the knowledge lamp by the esteemed guest of honor, Dr. Ekta Kapoor, Scientist and Head of the Frontiers & Futuristic Division, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. The ceremony was filled with profound values of knowledge, excellence, and enlightenment, setting the tone for the students’ academic journey.

Key dignitaries graced the occasion with their inspiring speeches, imparting valuable knowledge and motivation to the new students:

  • Dr. Ekta Kapoor shared her thoughts on the role of AI and the pivotal contributions students can make to science and technology. Her words of wisdom and encouragement left a lasting impact, inspiring the students to explore and engage with the realms of AI and innovation.
  • Swami Nijamritananda Puri, Administrative Director of Amrita Hospital, shared his spiritual wisdom, emphasizing the importance of combining academic excellence with compassion, service, and a higher purpose. His insights resonated deeply with the students, guiding them on their path to not just professional success but personal and social fulfillment.
  • Prof. Kamal Bijlani, Dean of the School of AI, Prof. Praveen Bisht, Assistant Registrar, and all faculty members of the School of AI also delivered engaging sessions, offering guidance and a clear roadmap for the students’ academic journey.

The event concluded with a networking lunch, providing an opportunity for students to connect with their peers, faculty, and the dignitaries. Throughout the day, the spirit of knowledge and innovation was palpable, with the students being welcomed into the Amrita family. Induction program is planned for students for the next 10 days, so that they can settle down and get adjusted to the new environment.
