Amrita Researcher Wins First Prize at Ayurveda World Summit

Congratulations to Dr. Sujithra M, PhD candidate and Senior Research Officer with the Amrita Centre for Advanced Research in Ayurveda at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham School of Ayurveda, who recently received first prize in the Paper Presentation (Oral) category at the 2nd Ayurveda World Summit in Bangalore, India.

The award-winning research paper, “Drug-Herb Interaction Study of Ayurveda Formulation Amrittottaram Kashayam and Biomedicine Methotrexate Administered Concurrently in Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA),” explores the compatibility between Ayurvedic and conventional biomedical treatment. The research was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Zeena S Pillai, Professor, Department of Chemistry; School of Physical Sciences; Amritapuri (PI). Co-guidance was provided by Dr. Rajeshwari P N, Professor, Department of Shalya Tantra, Alva’s Ayurveda Medical College, Moodbidri.
