The Silver Jubilee Reunion of the 1997–2001 batch, held on 11 July 2026 at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, was more than a celebration of 25 years. It was a reminder that the strongest connection to a university is built through the people, memories and values that continue long after graduation.
Returning to campus after 25 years felt like coming home. One alumnus recalled an earlier attempt to attend an alumni meet that ended with a barefoot walk across campus after everything went wrong. This time, reunited with classmates from across the world, she reflected, “It’s not just the place, but the people with whom you made memories that make it special.”
Reflecting on the University’s journey, Dr. Bipin Nair Registrar of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham described one of the first graduating batch as “partners in building Amrita,” while Swami Tapasyamritananda Puri welcomed everyone back with, “Welcome back home”, encouraging alumni to remain connected with their alma mater and share their experiences with future generations.
The reunion also looked ahead, inviting alumni to mentor students, strengthen industry collaborations, support research and entrepreneurship, and help shape the next generation of Amrita graduates. The message was clear: an alumni network creates its greatest impact when it continues to give back.
From reconnecting with faculty and classmates to celebrating lifelong friendships, the reunion reaffirmed that while careers may take alumni across continents, the values and relationships built at Amrita continue to bring them back ready to inspire the generations that follow.
