Bio

Dr. N. Tharani Devi is an Assistant Professor (Senior) in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore. She holds a PhD in Food Science and Nutrition, with a research focus on obesity-related health risks and the impact of dietary and lifestyle interventions. With several years of academic and research experience, she has contributed significantly to teaching, community nutrition, and interdisciplinary research.

Her research interests include nutraceuticals and functional foods, biodegradable packaging, food fortification, waste valorisation, and novel food product development. She has published in reputed national and international journals and has contributed to projects addressing micronutrient deficiencies, rural nutrition, and sustainable food systems. She also holds patents in functional food innovations.

Dr. Tharani Devi has actively guided undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and is currently supervising PhD scholars in emerging areas such as phytochemicals, extracellular vesicles, and functional food development. Her work emphasizes translating scientific research into practical solutions for public health and community nutrition.
