Bio

Dr. I. R. Oviya currently serves as Assistant Professor, Department of Sciences, Amrita School of Computing, Chennai campus.

She has received M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in Bioinformatics from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in 2010 and 2017, respectively. She was also awarded DST-INSPIRE Fellowship for pursuing Doctoral degree. She has gained expertise in multi-disciplinary techniques in the fields of Microbiology, Pharmacology and Bioinformatics. She completed M.Sc. Bioinformatics (Gold medallist) from CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar in 2008 and B.Sc. Zoology from Fatima College, Madurai in the year 2006.  She was also awarded with University proficiency prize in both UG and PG courses.
