The Department of Emergency Medicine and Critical Care, Amrita School of Medicine, hosted the 4th National Conference in Emergency and Trauma Care, AETLS-18, from 5th to 7th March, 2018.
The students and faculty members bagged several accolades at the event. Dr. Muthiah Subramanian, Final Year Resident, Cardiology, was awarded the best thesis/research presentation for his research paper entitled “Derivation and Validation of a Novel Prognostic Model to Identify Low Risk Acute Pulmonary Embolism”. He also won Rs. 25,000 as cash prize for the same.
Dr. V. K. Bhaskaran, Professor, Department of Orthopaedics, was honoured with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for his exceptional contribution to the field of Medicine. Dr. M. Gopalan was honoured with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for his exceptional contribution to the field of Simulation Medicine. Mr. Abhinav Prithvi and Ms. Roshni Stanley, 2014 MBBS Batch, Amrita School of Medicine, were the winners of the AETLS-18 Quiz.
Handbook of Diabetic Emergencies (2nd Edition ), the 12th book authored by Dr. Gireesh Kumar K. P., Professor and Head, Emergency Medicine, Amrita School of Medicine, was released on March 6, 2018, and the first copy was handed over to Dr. Prem Kumar Nair, Medical Director, Amrita School of Medicine.
