As part of the International Day against Drug Abuse, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences was awarded the Manavaseva Award 2016for its excellent contributions against the menace of drug abuse. The award ceremony was held at the Kanakakkunnu Palace, Thiruvananthapuram. Kerala Minister for Power and Devaswom Shri. Kadakampally Surendran presented the award. Dr. Prathapan Nair, Principal, Amrita School of Medicine, and Brahmachari Dr. Jaggu jointly received the award from the minister. Shri. Sasi Tharoor, MP, Sri. Muraleedharan, MLA, were also present on the occasion.
