The Amrita Faridabad Campus witnessed an exciting celebration of football and student camaraderie as the SNAI Student Council of the College of Nursing, in association with the Sports Council, organized FIFA Fest, an inter-college friendly football and quiz tournament inspired by the spirit of the FIFA World Cup.
The event brought together students from various colleges across the campus in a unique format that emphasized collaboration over competition. Rather than participating as separate colleges, students were grouped into four mixed fan teams representing iconic football nations—Brazil, Argentina, France, and Portugal. The initiative encouraged interaction among students from diverse academic disciplines while fostering a shared sense of sportsmanship and community.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Lekha Viswanath, Principal, Amrita College of Nursing, in the presence of Mr. Jayakesh Nair, Chief People Officer, Amrita Faridabad, and Ms. Maria Lazaro, Nursing Director, Amrita Hospital, Faridabad.
FIFA Fest was conceived to promote healthy sporting competition, strengthen inter-college relationships, and provide students with an engaging platform to celebrate the global appeal of football. The event also offered opportunities for participation beyond the playing field through a World Cup-themed quiz competition.
The football tournament featured a series of friendly matches played among the four fan teams. The games were marked by enthusiasm, teamwork, and fair play, creating an enjoyable experience for both participants and spectators. After a series of spirited contests, Team Brazil emerged as the football champions, defeating Team France in the final match.
Adding to the excitement was the World Cup Quiz Competition, where representatives from each fan team tested their knowledge of football history, legendary players, memorable moments, and FIFA World Cup records. Demonstrating impressive football expertise, Team Argentina secured first place in the quiz competition.
The event successfully transformed the campus into a vibrant arena of football fandom, bringing together students from different colleges under a common banner of sport and celebration. By combining athletic competition with intellectual engagement, FIFA Fest ensured meaningful participation from both players and football enthusiasts.
