Amrita Delegate Meets UNESCO Officials at Paris

Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh, (Dean of International Programs and Director of Amrita Center for Wireless Networks (AmritaWNA) and Applications at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham) met with UNESCO's Dr. Kristof Vandenberghe (Secretary of the International Geoscience and Geoparks Programme (IGGP)) and Dr. Soichiro Yashukawa and Dr. Masaya Sasaki (Programme Specialists on Disaster Risk Reduction), during her invited visit to UNESCO headquarters at Paris as the first group of 58 signatories of the Kyoto 2020 Commitment for Global Promotion of Understanding and Reducing Landslide Disaster Risk (KLC2020), signed at UNESCO Headquarters at Paris on September 18, 2019.

Represented by Dr. Maneesha V. Ramesh, (Dean of International Programs and Director of Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham), Amrita joined the United Nations and other international organizations as the first group of 58 signatories of the Kyoto 2020 Commitment for Global Promotion of Understanding and Reducing Landslide Disaster Risk (KLC2020), signed at UNESCO Headquarters at Paris on September 18, 2019.

In the 2020 edition of the annual rankings released, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has been placed in the list of 601-800 category. The rankings are partly based on publication, citation data and key performance indicators relating to research, teaching, knowledge transfer and international activity. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is the only Private Indian University according to Times Higher Education BRICS University Rankings.
