She addressed researchers representing 93 leading international universities at conference on technology for sustainable development co-hosted by Amrita and the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), attended by more than 700 delegates.

Addressing at United Nations Academic Impact​ Conference on Technology for Sustainable Development, Chancellor of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Spiritual leader  Sri Mata Amritanandamayi said that the world should observe a day dedicated to "Mother Nature". "On that day, everyone in the world should try to plant at least one tree," she said.
