The Amrita School for Sustainable Futures, in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair on Experiential Learning for Sustainable Innovation and Development, successfully concluded its two-day Executive Education Certificate Course on Social Impact Measurement & Management (SIMM) at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Faridabad Campus.
Designed to strengthen professional capabilities in measuring, managing, and communicating social impact, the programme brought together 17 participants from diverse sectors. The cohort included directors, deputy general managers, CSR and HR professionals, corporate citizenship leaders, sustainability practitioners, impact assurance specialists, academics, social entrepreneurs, and independent advisors.
The diversity of professional backgrounds created a dynamic environment for peer learning and cross-sector dialogue, highlighting the growing importance of collaboration in addressing complex social and sustainability challenges.
Over the two days, participants gained practical insights into the fundamentals of Social Impact Measurement and Management, including Theory of Change, Impact Logic Cycles, and quantitative and qualitative assessment methodologies. The programme combined conceptual learning with interactive discussions and case-based exercises, enabling participants to relate the frameworks to challenges and initiatives within their own organisations.
The programme also introduced participants to globally recognised impact assessment frameworks and approaches, including the Impact Management Project (IMP), OECD-DAC Evaluation Criteria, and Social Return on Investment (SROI). Sessions further explored sampling methodologies, ethical considerations in impact assessment, impact reporting, and innovative financing models for creating sustainable social value.
