The Sanjeevanites have done stupendous work in the time they managed to squeeze out of their rigorous academic schedules. They went out to help with the tsunami rehabilitation construction, to plant trees along the coastline and in a nearby health centre, organised a sale of items they handcrafted at Amrita Sanjeevani, celebrated Diwali with kids at Amma’s orphanage at Parippally, went on a study tour to Munnar, primarily to learn the art of making paper.
Amritapuri Campus is home to the members of Amrita Sanjeevani and our Organic Garden is the one thing we treasure the most in our Campus. The members of Amrita Sanjeevani devote their time in cultivating the garden through the guidance of our mentors and in return, we are gifted with the most unique vegetables that are developed and maintained without the use of any chemicals.
Community Outreach project is with a single goal: creating concrete, practical differences in the lives of those who are struggling - for those who could pull themselves up out of destitution, if only someone would extend their hand. It has programs and services designed to benefit widows, orphans, tsunami victims, education for poor, and many more.
Sanjeevani core team of Direct Recycling which comes with a very innovative way to produce items from waste thus reusing and reducing the waste and the cost to make new products these youth of the association have taken a vow to teach these methods through simple interactive sessions thus spreading light in the ways of the divine.
Sanjeevani Green Initiative promotes organic gardening, planting trees and medicinal plants, vegetable cultivation, and different types of composting. To reconnect people with nature, workshops, nature retreats and group meditation in forests are conducted.
Eco friends at Amrita have committed to reduce their impact on the environment. This includes energy conservation - to reduce non-renewable energy consumption and spreading awareness in reducing water, food and electricity wastages.
As it is truly said that learning and experience makes a man. Inspirational talks are organized for the students, where experts and leaders from experts from diverse fields impart their knowledge to the youth. Students not only gain knowledge from the sessions delivered but also gain wisdom on some simple areas of day to day life management.
It is a unique initiative for the first year students under 'Amrita Sanjeevani' since 2010. This is a program designed over the free-slots available during the week days in all the four schools, where each batch of students have been given a designated slot to come and participate in various service activities. There are faculty members who have volunteered to be facilitators for each of these sessions.
'Sanjeevanam', the youth camp is organized for the sanjeevanites, is an effective vehicle for promoting spiritual growth and improved relationships among and between the youth who are the core members of ‘Amrita Sanjeevani’, having diverse skills and creativeness, with AMMA being the central unifying source.
