Bio

Dr. Vivek Venugopal received his Bachelor of Technology degree from Amrita School of Engineering Ettimadai in 2011. He obtained his Master of Technology degree in Electronics and Communication from National Institute of Technology in 2014. He subsequently completed his Ph.D from Indian Institute of Technology in 2019. His Ph.D thesis focussed on designing novel descriptors for the task of online writer identification. He worked as an Adhoc faculty at National Institute of Technology Calicut from July 2019 to August 2020. He then worked as an Assistant Professor at Amrita School of Engineering Amritapuri from March 2021 to June 2022. He joined the institute on June 2022 and is currently serving as Assistant Professor in the Electronics and Communication Engineering department. His research interests include pattern recognition, biometrics, and document analysis.
