Among the most exciting recent events at Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore (ASB Coimbatore) was its alumni meet, held on 23rd and 24th January, 2016. The two-day meet saw an enthusiastic participation of alumni, professors and current students. Two hundred+ alumni from all walks of life, including Executive VPs, Directors, CEOs and entrepreneurs from across the globe, walked into the campus to relive their memories of their Alma Mater.
The meet started on 23rd January at 7pm with La Banquentina, a dinner hosted by the professors at the Guest House of the campus. Besides sharing memories, the alumni also took part in the entertainment events happening in the evening. On 24th January 2016, the meet started with a prayer by Vishnu Tharavath, Class of 2016, and lighting of the lamp by students of the first batch of ASB Coimbatore.
Following the inauguration, Dr. R. Raghu Raman, Chairman, ASB, who himself is an alumnus of the campus, shared the growth chart of the alma mater with the alumni. “Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is now ranked among the list of Ivy League Universities. The BRICS University Ranking has identified Amrita as the No.1 private university in India. QS BRICS University Ranking has acknowledged Amrita as No.1 for its international faculty, and the World University Rankings have recognized Amrita as No.1 for its international outlook among the top 17 universities in India,” he said. He briefly summarized various achievements of the campus to date.
The inaugural function was followed by a set of activities arranged for the alumni. Several games, including Fake Titles, Rapid Questionnaire, Compatible Couple, etc., added fun to the event. Before parting for lunch and photo sessions, alumni shared their industry experiences, their career growth and how Amrita contributed towards their success.
The organizers, students from Class of 2016, received wide appreciation and applause for conducting the most memorable alumni meet of ASB Coimbatore. Dr. P. Balasubramanian, Associate Professor-Finance, Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore, spearheaded the entire event.
