For this Women’s Day, the Kochi-based Eastern Condiments has chosen Prof. Shobhana Madhavan, Associate Professor, Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore, for the ‘Eastern Bhoomika 2017 – Iconic Women of Your Life’ award. The award honors the women who have the strength and innate potential in themselves and are generally gone unnoticed and unrecognized.

Inba Rajan S., alumni of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, nominated Prof. Shobhana for the award. The award is an honor for the Outreach program Prof. Shobhana conducts at Ettimadai village. In the program, she lends a helping hand to the people of the village. Students of ASB actively participate in the program and assist Prof. Shobhana in this initiative.

Primarily, she focuses on the education of the children in the village and teaches the young kids. The award ceremony was held in Chennai. Mr. Venkatesan Santana Periasamy, alumni of ASB, Coimbatore, collected the award for Prof. Shobhana.
