Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore (ASB) turned into a big showground last week as the campus celebrated Utsav, its vibrant intra-college, week-long cultural festival.
Martial arts, music and dance performances, street play, mime, creative writing, painting, debate, cricket, athletes, and jamming sessions performed by the students filled the five days of extravaganza from the 27th– 31st August, 2016.
“It was a great platform for us to showcase our talents. The five days encouraged us to present ourselves at the best, unknowingly unleashing our hidden skills,” commented Nilufer, a student from Class of 2018.
Dr. Sanjay Banerji, Professor Emeritus, ASB inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. The students competed as four teams – Aryans, Mayans, Aztecs, and Spartans – each led by one member. Among the groups, Aztecs emerged as the winners, followed by Spartans occupying the second position and Mayans as the third.
Mr. & Ms. Utsav was another highlight of the event. While Sidharth Sankar from Class of 2017 won the title of Mr. Utsav, Gayathri K. from Class of 2018 won Ms. Utsav this year. The days of celebration ended with a colorful procession by the four teams and a formal valedictory function, where the prizes were distributed.
