The Department of Mechanical Engineering, established in 1994, has grown into a vibrant center for academic excellence and research. The department offers Undergraduate (B.Tech.) programs in (1) Mechanical Engineering and (2) Automation & Robotics, Postgraduate (M.Tech.) programs in (1) Engineering Design, (2) Manufacturing & Automation, and (3) Automotive Engineering, along with Doctoral (Ph.D.) programs. The department also offers minor program for other department students in Robotics and Automation.
The B.Tech. program in Mechanical Engineering is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for the maximum duration of six years, reflecting the program’s strong academic standards and quality.

Doctoral Program
This research focuses on addressing machining vibration, or chatter, a critical concern in thin-wall machining systems. Chatter adversely affects productivity, dimensional accuracy, and surface quality of machined components.
