Bio

Dr. T. K. Ramesh is a Professor and Chairperson in the Department of Electronics and Communication, School of Engineering, Bengaluru, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. He joined Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in August 2005, after serving as an Assistant Professor at M.V.J. College of Engineering, Bengaluru, for 10 years. He was the recipient of the Best Teacher Award at M.V.J. College of Engineering and has over 30 years of teaching experience in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

He received his Ph.D. from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in 2012 in the area of Optical Networks. He has published over 100 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences. He has successfully guided 10 Ph.D. scholars and is currently guiding eight Ph.D. scholars, with a strong focus on research, innovation, and interdisciplinary applications in Electronics and Communication Engineering.

His research interests include Communication Networks and Applications, Optical Networks, Internet of Things (IoT), Network-on-Chip, Functional Safety, VLSI and Embedded Systems, Analog and Digital Circuit Design, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. His academic interests also include lab-centric education, industry–academia collaboration, and the application of emerging technologies to real-world engineering problems.

He is a Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and a member of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He is actively involved in academic leadership, research mentoring, curriculum development, and fostering industry and interdisciplinary collaborations.
