The center is located at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Coimbatore Campus. This is indeed the first centre established in the area of automotive technology in the year 2012. Its activities rotated around to boost the research capabilities of faculty and students working in the automotive domain. The center also develops prototypes for power trains and research in the area of hybrid vehicles.
The center is established with a support of Automotive Test Systems Indian based company at Pune. It offers M. Tech in Automotive Engineering and Automotive Systems. Participants also earn an MS degree in Embedded Systems from University at Buffalo.
Key research is conducted in the areas hybrid vehicle, vehicle performance testing, model analysis, vibration measurement, sound quality measurement.
The center provides an opportunity for its M. Tec.h and PHD students to work on live projects given by the Industry and also in parallel conduct their own research in these areas.
Training programs comprising of Theory as well as Practicals will be organized for professionals from the Indian Automotive Industry at AATC campus.
