Cinerama – the National level Short Film Festival at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru Campus organized by Department of Visual Communication on 15 April 2019, aims to provide students a unique platform to showcase their creative talent and skill in short film making, besides facilitating interaction with professionals from film industry. More than 30 entries were received during 2018, from different parts of the country and the shortlisted entries were screened during the event. Mrs. Bhagirathi Bai Kadam Director, Rangayana inaugurated the Cinerama 2018 and Ms. Shanvi Srivatsava, Actor, South Indian Industry (SIGMA best actor award winner for the Kannada movie Tarak) was invited as the chief guest to give away the prizes to the winners.

Department of Visual Communication

The department of Visual Communication, Amrita school of Arts and Science, Mysuru, is one that stands out for more reasons than one. A three year B.Sc Visual Media, five year Int.M.Sc. Visual Communication, two Year PG in M.Sc. Visual Communication are the programmes offered by the department. The programmes offer a platform to transform theory into practical experiences in-order to gear the students to meet the needs of the media industry. Theory-cum-practical specialization subjects such as Event Management, Ad photography, Public relations and corporate communication, Advertising- aspects and aesthetics, Online journalism, Documentary Film making, media management, film studies are a part of the curriculum that offers much sought after career to many students. The department aims to produce, not only responsible media persons, but also desires to sensitize citizens to social concerns thereby creating bigger mind-space for people of the global village.

AMRITA VISHWA VIDYAPEETHAM, Mysuru Campus is one of the six campuses of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Deemed-to-be University established under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. Rules For Participation

  • Minimum 2 and maximum 5 students from each college can form a team and there is no restriction on the number of teams per college.
  • Entries are accepted with a copy of college ID Card along with two copies of Data DVD in Mp4 format (H.264) or Downloadable link
  • Printed copy of 4 working stills on an A4 must be sent along with the DVD
  • Maximum duration for the Short films is 20 minutes. Spot entries will not be entertained. Language of the Short Film may be either in English or other regional languages. English subtitles is compulsory for other languages.
  • Story should be original. Films with obscene scenes and dialogues will be disqualified Participants should report at the reception desk on the day of the event & should carry ID card without fail.
  • The top ten finalists who would be intimated, must ensure to be present for the event.
  • The organization reserves the right to change any rules of the event if the situation demands it. Decision of the judges is final and binding.
  • Management is not responsible for any loss of personal belongings and valuables.

One-Stop-Snap-Shot-Photo- Caption contest:

Send one of the best pictures captured by you. Soft copy must be sent to email ID: feelclickcapture@gmail.com and hard copy of the same of size of 8 x 12 inches, with the endorsement of your college seal on the reverse of the photo, must reach us on or before 10th April 2019. Your picture must carry a caption.
