The field of wireless sensor networks is progressing at a very rapid pace with one of its major application in the area of agriculture. Several research problems have been addressed and solutions have been proposed. Most of these works are based on single crop scenario. Research done in the multiple-cropping scenario, where two or more crops are sown in a single field in the same year, are very few. Here, a unique solution for multiple cropping scenarios, in a system design perspective is proposed. The system forms a closed loop by including MAC protocol, data aggregation, routing and localization developed specifically for this scenario.

In this paper, analysis of a dual-band filter using hairpin resonator is presented. By geometrical modifications of a hairpin resonator, bands stop and band pass characteristics are observed in the frequency spectrum. The variations of the geometrical parameters have been studied in detail and optimized for best filter performance. © 2015 IEEE.

This paper presents the design of microstrip band-stop filter (BSF) on Silicon platform by implementing elliptical ring resonator (ERR) in the ground plane of coplanar strips. The designed elliptical ring resonator filter is compact with good reflection and transmission characteristics over a wide band. The coplanar strip ERR BSF can be fabricated using the CMOS process flow without any additional steps, thus making it cost-effective in fabrication. The design of a double-ring ERR filter, without an increase in the area is also presented in the paper. Further, the analysis of the designed ERR filter is done by geometrical variations and its effect in the transmission characteristics and frequency is studied. © Research India Publications.

This paper proposes a BPSK modulator using a branchline coupler and phase shifter at 2 GHz. BPSK modulator designed is compact and provides an excellent 3dB coupling and there is a 180 degree phase difference between the output signals as desired for a BPSK modulation technique. © Research India Publications.
