Improving Tribal Livelihoods,
Education & Sustainability
Mizoram, with its scenic hills and high literacy rates, faces challenges like unemployment, substance abuse, and health issues, including anaemia and rising NCDs. To address these, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, in collaboration with Mizoram University and the Department of Science and Technology, is establishing STI Hubs in Aizawl and Serchhip. These hubs aim to empower tribal communities through skill development and sustainable livelihood initiatives, fostering a brighter, resilient future for the state.
With more than 4400 direct beneficiaries, the STI hubs will indirectly benefit about 40% of the ST population in the selected districts through Community Participation and Knowledge Dissemination.
