Dr. Akhil V M took PhD in Rehabilitation robotics from the National Institute of Technology-Calicut, India, and has post-doctoral experience from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in supportive robotics. Currently,he is working on the design and development of a lower limb exoskeleton for rehabilitation.
His research activities include the design and development of a lower limb exoskeleton for rehabilitation, the effect of surface conditions in muscle activity, and electromyography signal-based control of the supporting devices. He has worked on the external and internal parameters that affect the human joint torque under different surface and walking conditions. His areas of interest include Product design, robotics, Bio-mechanics, Structural analysis, 3D printing, etc. He worked as an assistant professor at the National Institute of Engineering Karnataka (2020-2022) and Heera College of Engineering and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram in the period from 2013to 2015. He has guided many M-Tech and B-Tech students to pursue their projects and writing papers. He hasthirty-six publications which include eight international journals and twenty-eight conference proceedings. One patent for his invention in the field of the load-carrying device.
