Dr. Darbha Venkata Ravi Kumar currently serves as Assistant Professor in Department of Chemistry, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Chennai Campus.
He did his M. Sc. (Master of Science) degree in Physical Chemistry from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. Later, for his PhD, he joined National Chemical Laboratory, Pune (NCL, Pune), under the guidance of Dr. B. L. V. Prasad and Amol A. Kulkarni, where he worked on the development of continuous flow methods for the synthesis of nanomaterials. After obtaining his PhD degree in 2013, he joined Prof. Moon’s lab, Department of Materials science and Engineering, Yonsei University, Korea as a postdoctoral fellow and he worked on the one-dimensional metal nanowires.
His research interests expand to the areas of synthesis, nucleation-growth kinetics, anisotropic noble metal nanomaterials, one dimensional and 2D nanomaterials and applications of different nanomaterials in various fields. He has 12 publications and an US patent to his credit.
Currently he is executing research project funded by DST-SERB.
