Eligibility

Candidates must have completed 10+2 or Intermediate with PCMB, PCB, or PCM (P – Physics, C – Chemistry, B – Biology, M – Mathematics) from a recognized Board or University with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks and not less than 55% in the above subjects to be eligible to apply.

Admission Process

Admission is based on a valid rank obtained in the Amrita Entrance Examination – Life Sciences (AEEL).

Online courses

The students will take a minimum of 10 credits of online courses during four years as a partial requirement for the B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture program. These online courses shall be non gradial. The Class Committee shall identify and recommend the indicative list of online courses that may be undertaken by the students. The evaluation pattern, eligibility for successful completion and method of credit recognition shall also be recommended by the Class Committee by the approval of Dean. The University shall maintain a record of all such online courses registered and successfully completed by each student. The titles of successfully completed online courses shall be reflected in final transcript certificate issued to the students.

1. Withdrawal Requests received before the commencement of the programme  The entire academic fee after deducting the processing fee of Rs.1000/- will be refunded. 
2. Withdrawal Requests received within 10 days after the commencement of classes The entire academic fee after deducting 10% will be refunded. 
3. Withdrawal Requests received after 10 days and within 20 days from the commencement of classes  The entire academic fee after deducting 20% will be refunded. 
4. Withdrawal Requests received after 20 days and within 30 days from the commencement of classes.  The entire academic fee after deducting 50% will be refunded.

Qn.1. Is Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham affiliated to any University for purpose of recognition of degrees?

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is a University established under sec 3 of UGC Act 1956. Being a University, the question of affiliation to another university does not arise. Since the university is recognized by UGC and Ministry of HRD,Govt. of India, the courses offered by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham are recognized. The University is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council(NAAC )with ‘A++’ Grade in 2021. The HRD Ministry’s Panel Report (2010) on Deemed Universities has graded Amrita in Category  1.

Amrita School of Agricultural Sciences and B.Sc.(Hons.) Agriculture degree programme is accredited by Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

Qn.2. What are the job opportunities for this Programme?

The curriculum is designed to train students through a multidisciplinary approach by integrating technological advancements and the offered courses are in tune with international standards and as envisaged by Indian Council of Agriculture Research. At present, our Corporate and Industrial Relations Directorate is linking students with various industries and helping them with placements depending on industrial demands. Specifically, students get placement in government departments as Agricultural or Extension Officers and in banks as Agricultural Development Officers. In addition, students are eligible to apply for any jobs where a general science degree/agriculture is set as eligibility condition. For example, students can apply for Indian Civil Service examination after securing a degree in Agricultural Science.

Qn.3. At the time of counseling, is the presence of candidate compulsory?

Yes, the candidate along with his parent or guardian shall be present at the counseling desk.

Qn.4. At the time of counseling, is it enough if I produce Photostat copies of my certificates?

Sorry. Original certificates are to be produced.

Qn.5. If I do not receive call letter in time to attend the counseling, what can I do?

The rank list and counseling schedule will be published in the university website. Candidates who do not get the intimation letter shall check the website and if their rank is included for counseling, they may attend the counseling on the specified date with all their original certificates as specified. Moreover they may contact the university office in this regard before the date of counseling.

Qn.6. Eligibility & Criteria:

A pass in 10 + 2 (Class XII) or its equivalent examination with minimum 60% aggregate of marks in Biology, Physics and Chemistry and with not less than 55% in each of these three subjects.

Qn.7. Is there an entrance exam for UG Programmes?

Yes, Admissions to Agriculture Programmes are based on the rank secured in Amrita entrance exam.
