Bio

Dr Premjith B currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the Center for Computational Engineering and Networking (CEN), Amrita School of Computing at Coimbatore cam campus. His research focuses on developing Machine Learning/Deep Learning models for machine translation, word sense disambiguation, morphological segmentation and synthesis, Part-of-Speech tagging, Named Entity Recognition and Dependency parsing. He also worked on various social media analysis applications such as hate speech/offensive language identification, emotion detection from social media data, sentiment analysis, factuality identification and fake news detection. He is currently interested in applying artificial intelligence techniques for cybersecurity, bioinformatics and finance.

Premjith finished his B-Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Kannur University. He obtained his M.Tech in Computational Engineering and Networking from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. He pursued his PhD in Neural Machine Translation from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham under the guidance of Prof. K.P Soman. He started working at Amrita as a faculty in 2020.
