Human Chain by Amrita Students on International Womens Day

To mark the International Women's day, about 2500 students formed the human chain on Karungappally town. The event was inaugurated by Arjuna Award winner S.Omanakumari. Students also performed a drama portraying the cruelties to women.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Staffs, Students formed Human Chain on International Womens Day

As part of the International Women's Day, as many as 3000 persons including students and staffs of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, at Amritapuri and  Volunteers of Yuva Dharma Dhara, the youth wing of Mata Amritandamayi Math, formed a human chain to celebrate the day. Arjuna awardee, S.Omana Kumari inaugurated the event and delivered the inaugural speech.

International Women’s Day at Amrita

Thousands of students, faculty and staff of the Amritapuri campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham joined residents of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math to form a human chain that extended over a few kilometres this International Women’s Day on March 8, 2013.
