Objectives and Outcomes

Course Objectives

  1. To introduce students to the foundational philosophical ideas that have shaped constitutional governance and other branches of law.
  2. To introduce students to the fundamental concepts and scope of Political Science.
  3. To familiarize students with the theories of state, constitution, and government.
  4. To explore the interrelationship between political science and other social sciences.
  5. To develop analytical understanding of political institutions, theories, and practices.

Course Outcome

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Define and explain the nature, scope, and methodology of Political Science.
  2. Critically analyze theories relating to the origin and nature of the state.
  3. Distinguish between different forms of constitutions and governments.
  4. Evaluate key political theories such as separation of powers, judicial review, and rule of law.
  5. Understand the role of political parties and pressure groups in a democratic framework.

Teaching Methodology: The course will use interactive lectures, discussions, case studies, problem-based learning, comparative analysis, reflective exercises, multimedia resources, and collaborative projects to integrate philosophical, social, political, and legal dimensions of Political Science.
