Amrita Students Enter into the Finals of Cisco Global Problem Solver Challenge 2020

The students and researchers at the Humanitarian Technology (HuT) Labs of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri campus, were selected for the finals of the Cisco Global Problem Solver Challenge 2020 under Global Category and India Impact Category, the two categories under which the challenge is held.

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Chief Medical Superintendent, Amrita Institute of Medical & Sciences (AIMS), Kochi, talked at a webinar on 'Unlocking Travel & Tourism Safely & Responsibly during COVID'. The Webinar was moderated by Rupinder Brar, ADG, Ministry of Tourism and the other presenters were Dr. Sandeep Bhalla, Director of Public Health Foundation of India; and Dr. Paridhi Mody, Program Officer of Public Health Foundation of India. They briefed the participants all about traveling safely and responsibly during COVID-19.

A student team, "Team Yorkers" from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), at School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, has emerged as one among the top teams in the La Trobe University Technology Infusion Grand Challenge (TIGC) 2020. 

Amrita Team Wins for Smart Stove in La Trobe University TIGC 2020

A student team from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, has emerged as one among the top teams in the La Trobe University Technology Infusion Grand Challenge (TIGC) 2020. Team Yorkers developed a Smart Stove that intelligently turns off on its own for safety reasons and can be controlled remotely from anywhere In the world. The team won AUD $ 600 for developing a prototype at this innovation competition themed "Smart City Innovation."
