A team of seven faculty members from TIFAC-CORE in Cyber Security, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore Campus, visited the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Bengaluru, on 12th November 2025. The visit aimed to strengthen academic and research collaborations in the domains of Cyber Security, High-Performance Computing (HPC), Quantum Technologies, and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The delegation visited two major facilities — Electronic City Phase-I and Knowledge Park, where they were warmly received by the C-DAC team led by Mr. Gopinath P (Scientist-E) and Dr. Sanjay A (Scientist-E).
At Electronic City Phase-I Facility, the sessions featured detailed presentations and live demonstrations on:
At the Knowledge Park Facility, the faculty interacted with Mr. Henry Sukumar, Head of the Quantum Technologies Section (and Amrita alumnus), and his team. The sessions highlighted QSim (India’s first indigenous quantum simulator), Qniverse, and the Metro Area Quantum Access Network (MAQAN). Insights into Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) research, including ML-DSA and ML-KEM algorithms, were also shared by Mr. Raghavendra Patil, Associate Director, PQC Division. The faculty were also briefed on ongoing AI research projects at C-DAC focusing on AI for Cyber Security, Mental Health, Agriculture, and Language Technologies.
At the High-Performance Computing division, the team witnessed PARAM Utkarsh, an indigenously developed supercomputer delivering 838 TFLOPS computing performance under the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM), supporting advanced research in AI and simulation.
The team also explored collaborative opportunities in Secure AI, Quantum and PQC Research, Blockchain DNS, and Zero Trust Frameworks. C-DAC invited applications from Amrita’s B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. students for paid internships, as well as participation in free HPC training programs and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs).
This visit opened avenues for joint R&D initiatives, internships, and technology sharing between C-DAC Bengaluru and TIFAC-CORE in Cyber Security, strengthening Amrita’s engagement with national research missions in emerging technologies.
