Kerambot – Smart Coconut Harvesting Robot

Kerambot is a smart, rugged, and field-tested tree-climbing robotic system designed to safely and efficiently harvest coconuts without requiring human climbing, thereby addressing critical challenges such as safety risks, labor shortages, and physical strain faced by farmers. Engineered to operate on real coconut trees with varying heights, diameters, and surface textures, it integrates a high-torque wheel-based traction climbing mechanism with a circumferential harvesting system and a robotic arm for precise coconut cutting, all controlled through a ground-based manual interface that keeps the operator safely on the ground. The system is equipped with a live camera feed for real-time monitoring and is powered by an onboard battery, ensuring stable, controlled, and efficient harvesting performance in practical field conditions.
